Henrí Mitchelle

Born and raised in Chicago, Henrí Mitchelle started doing her own makeup in the 4th grade. Already a trained dancer, Henrí painted her face from eye to jawline with wonderful blue eyeshadow, red lipstick, and blush; of course, this did not sit very well with her mother. Henrí left dancing and decided to transform her passion for makeup into a career.

After high school, Henrí was accepted to the University of the Arts in London and the London College of Fashion, though the study abroad would be postponed due to sky-high tuition. In 2006, Henrí attended Award Studio Makeup School in Los Angeles. There she received her license in media and fashion makeup, the day after returning from school she was hired by M.A.C. Cosmetics, one year prior to being hired for M.A.C., she freelanced for Stila, Prescriptive, and Smash-Box cosmetics.

In 2009, Henrí was called in as the makeup artist to help, Tiffany Davis. In the fall of 2010 Henrí offered her services to Bianca Alexander. A budding relationship with Alexander landed Henrí the job as a key makeup artist in the ‘Vert-Couture’ Fashion Show. The show was the finale of Chicago’s Fashion Week and the only eco-friendly fashion show to be exhibited. The show solidified Henrí’s role as one of the only eco-friendly makeup artists in Chicago. Henrí has worked as the daily makeup artist and hair stylist for senator Carol Mosley-Braun during her 2011 mayoral campaign. In February 2011, she was voted Chicago’s Best Makeup Artist at the Chicago Urban Music Awards. In 2017 she founded Henrí Mitchelle Cosmetics a completely vegan, gluten, paraben, and cruelty-free line. She released products in 2020 and sold out instantly. Henrí's line will more products include blushes, bronzers eyeshadows, and pressed powders.
